Listen to Rick read this post: In, I talked about the essentialness of having a God-centered view and gospel-shaped humility regarding the evil that happens to us. I used the story of Joseph, from Genesis 38-50, as well as a case study about a marriage that went through an adulterous relationship between the husband and another woman. In both of those illustrations, I brought them to a point of reconciliation, which is what actually happened in those stories. Even though they were able to reconcile, that piece was about forgiveness, not reconciliation. Some of my readers jumped to the conclusion that all broken relationships end in reconciliation if we, the offended, are willing to reconcile like Joseph and the wife of the adulterous husband. Other readers did not make that jump, but they did ask how to respond to a person who does not want to reconcile, even when the offended person is ready to reconcile with them. Because we live in a fallen world, we have to make room for the possibility of not being able to reconcile with everyone. Possible Bug In EarThere are at least four reasons for this. This article will address those four reasons. A Perfect Heart The best place to begin talking about the impossibility of reconciliation is with Jesus because He was perfect in every way. Unlike us, He never sinned and He never had to “get His heart right with God” in order to forgive and be reconciled with someone. If anyone had the perfect chance to be reconciled with another person, it was Christ. He created no barriers between Himself and those who needed to and wanted to fully make right what they did wrong. Jesus understood how He was sinned against and He developed a plan with His Father to be reconciled to sinners. This positioned Him to completely restore any relationship that wanted to be restored. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. – Luke 23:34 Still yet, He was not able to reconcile with everyone. People walked away from Him, while others openly mocked Him. ![]() Possible Bug In Reconciliation StatementSymptom: Daily change reconciliation report on 6.2 does not show any relevant information on changes made on the policies. I think there is a bug in my reconciliation register. How can I resolve the issue of previously reconciled transactions appearing back in the register as unreconciled? Previously reconciled transactions seem to be randomly appearing back in my register as unreconciled. I think this is a bug. I have un-reconciled the entire year's worth of statements. Working on bank reconciliation and could not get it to work. Out of balance and rebuild sort files does not help. Calculated balance is exactly 2x off from the general ledger for the only payroll checks I have run so far. Account Reconciliation is a tool that is used to flag that an accounting transaction has been verified as correct and that the balance of the general ledger account should be increased or reduced by that amount. And though He was innocent, there were people who conspired against Him and eventually put Him to death. Regardless of how perfect He was there were people unwilling to make things right with Him. A Perfect World In a perfect world, you can go the distance with any person who has sinned against you. Our problem is we do not live in a perfect world. Paul had people put to death before he was converted. After Christ saved him, he was reconciled to some of the people he hurt. That is the power of the gospel. It can happen, but it must be a work of God, moving the heart of the person who sinned (Paul) as well as those who were sinned against (the Christians). Initially, they were suspicious of him for legitimate reasons, but as time went by and the evidence of his repentance was perceived by many, he seemed to be freely accepted by those he had previously offended. Today, Paul is gathered with the Christians he had put to death. The murderer and the murdered are fully reconciled and worshiping Jesus. There is grace for forgiveness and reconciliation when the offended and the offender are willing to access and appropriate it. Jesus and Paul had moderate, but not complete success when it came to reconciliation and we do not consider them spiritual failures by any stretch of the imagination. Forgiveness and Reconciliation? Possible Bug In Reconciliation MeaningForgiveness and reconciliation are not the same things. Just like the has elements of our full salvation, there are also components or elements of full repentance. You can read more about all of these elements in. Below, I have listed the first seven elements involved in full repentance to help clarify each person’s responsibility in reconciling after a sin event has happened. These seven elements remove the sin, which opens the way for the eighth element of reconciliation.
